This week I was able to witness something absolutely incredible. The Spaceship Company (Virgin Galactic) is making a commercial space craft and they are in the midst of test flights and today was the second suborbital flight.
Some stats:
Separation occurred at around 45,000 ft
The space craft reached Mach 3 on its way into space
It went about 90km up (55.87 miles)
This was the first time there was a third person in the craft - a woman, Beth, none the less. She was in charge of human validation of the customer cabin.
